This Privacy Policy explains how the “Translator Extension” browser extension (“Extension”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and safeguards user information.

We are committed to user privacy and practice data minimization: we only process information that is strictly required to deliver the core functionality.

1. Information We Process

1. User-Initiated Inputs & Web Content:
   • When you explicitly interact with the Extension, the relevant page text or your prompt is sent to our secure gateway solely to produce the requested AI response.
   • Content is never used for advertising profiling, tracking, or marketing.
2. Device Identifier & Account Quotas:
   • An anonymous, randomly generated Device UUID is used to track daily request quotas.
   • If you voluntarily sign in with Email, your address is used strictly for authentication and delivering verification codes.
3. Local Storage:
   • Your preferences and local history are stored strictly on your local machine using Chrome’s chrome.storage.local API.

2. Data Sharing & Third Parties

• We do NOT sell, trade, or rent user data to third parties.
• User data is NOT used for advertising or user profiling.
• Requests are processed via secure APIs strictly to fulfill user-initiated actions.

3. Data Retention & Deletion

• You can clear your local data at any time through the Extension interface or by uninstalling the Extension.
